My use of meth started when I was 14. When I first began it was just the weekend once or twice a month smoking "crank" off of aluminum foil. By the age of 15 I was smoking meth out of glass pipes at least 4 or 5 days per week. Needless to say school, family, and social activities were almost non-existent. By 16 I was shooting meth on an almost everyday basis and also started selling it along with other numerous drugs to support my habit. I continued this way for about the next year and a half until I was arrested in a narcotics raid on the house I was staying at. After I was released on probation for a possession charge first offender (as an adult) I was clean for 2 years. I thought I had the problem under control. I was going to school to be a cop of all things and was working 40+ hours a week at a well-known company. Shortly before I was going to get off my probation I relapsed. The first mistake I made that led to my relapse was not realizing how bad the drug actually was and I continued to drink and take pills, which clouded my judgment. After a short while of using, approx 5 months, I was arrested for DUI drugs. I got bailed out because of school and work and I actually thought I would be able to stop everything without help, I WAS WRONG, I started using again less than a week later. In the next 2 months I overdosed twice and finally decided I needed help and went to rehab for 90+ days. After I got out of rehab I thought I was on top of the world and had this addiction beat, I WAS WRONG!! Less than a moth after I was out of rehab I started drinking again. Probably my 3rd time drinking I shot meth the same night and didn't stop until I was arrested again for my violation of the probation (from the DUI drugs). I was only locked up for 5 days due to it was only for failing a drug screen. Once I got out I was back to the races with nothing but drugs to do due to I was fired from my job and failed school due to being locked up. I WENT ALL OUT AFTER THAT!! I went full throttle for the next 2 months only to be arrested again.
After getting pulled over with 200+ prescription pills in the car, meth, and an assault rifle. I spent 2 months locked up due to I couldn't be bonded out because I was on probation. Once I got out I knew it was time for a change. I have been sober since my date of arrest 10/25/08. I have found that recovery is easier with a 12 step program and a relationship with a higher power, JESUS CHRIST. My name is Seth and I am recovering from METH! DON'T GIVE UP!!!
